James Munnelly Obituary

James D. Munnelly, affectionately known as Jimmy to his friends and family, passed away on October 10, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on November 19, 1964, in Long Branch, New Jersey, to the late Patrick and Rosemary Roberts, Jimmy was a beacon of kindness and generosity throughout his life. Raised in Keansburg, he later settled in Middletown 30 years prior to his passing, where he became a cherished member of the community.

Jimmy was a man of many talents and interests. For over two decades, he dedicated his professional life to NJNG Home Services as a skilled HVAC technician. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were unmatched, and he was well-respected by his colleagues and clients alike. Jimmy's hands were rarely still, as his passion for mechanics and restoration led him to become an avid car enthusiast. He found joy and purpose in rebuilding and restoring classic muscle cars, a hobby that allowed him to share his knowledge and craftsmanship with others.

Beyond his professional and personal pursuits, Jimmy's love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for fishing. He could often be found by the water, rod in hand, enjoying the tranquility of nature. His best friend and loyal companion, Sheba, his German Shepherd, was never far from his side. Together, they shared countless adventures and a bond that exemplified the love between a man and his dog.

Jimmy's life was marked by the love he had for his family. He is survived by his mother, Rosemary Roberts; his brother, Patrick Munnelly; his sisters, Katie Tremper and Anne Keady; his niece, Brittney Tremper; his nephews, Ronald Tremper, Patrick Tremper, and Calvin Powell; as well as four great-nieces and three great-nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Sarah, in 1994, and his sister, Rose Munnelly in 2008. Each family member will forever cherish the memories and moments shared with Jimmy.
